8 Things I Did This Week

1. I used Mod Podge and food coloring to tint some mason jars. Some turned out okay, but a few of them had lumps that dried in place that were very noticeable. I'm still trying to figure a way to make them less noticeable. Arts and crafts are hard.

2. I sold a bunch of stuff, and still trying to sell more. Almost every cent is going into our wedding savings. I'm determined to come out of this with as little debt as possible.

3. I went to a work friend's birthday party and drank on a roof-top patio. It was pretty sweet. Then we had some Chinese food and I slept most of the day away Sunday while Eric worked. Oh, except I walked hungover to Eric's work to get the car. I needed McDonald's breakfast.

4. Our fridge broke. We discovered the freezer wasn't freezing on Saturday afternoon, so we moved stuff to the deep freeze. When we got home at 1am Sunday, we realized the fridge also wasn't working. We threw out a nice amount of food. Someone is supposed to look at it today, but that's still 48 hours with no fridge. And I wanted to do groceries yesterday. I'm hungry and were lacking in food options.

5. I was super sad about the passing of Robin Williams. He's always been a favorite of mine. We finally had the time last night to watch Patch Adams - also one of my favorite movies. So good. RIP, Robin Williams.

6. I've stopped drinking caffeine on a regular basis. I still drink it somedays, just not all. I find it makes me feel icky some days. Other days it makes me feel great. It's saving me money though.

7. I've also noticed that eating greasy/unhealthy foods makes me feel icky too. I guess I'm just not that young anymore. I've been trying to have more smoothies and opt for something a little healthier when given the option (banana whole grain muffins vs. chocolate donut). I think it's helping a bit.

8. I've been trying to arrange to get the wedding girls together at the end of the month. It's hard. But maybe we can at least get a few of us together. Everyone will be in the area on August 30/31, but all with different plans. We have a wedding on the 30th.

10 Things I've Done in the Past Week

1. Almost finished all my Christmas shopping. Just need a couple of stocking stuffers and small things for one or two people and I'm done. I'm also waiting on an Amazon order to arrive, but that's already paid for :) I love shopping for other people.

2. Finished the book 'Finding Emma' on my Kobo. It's only the second book I've finished since I got the Kobo in October 2012. My goal for 2014 is to read a lot more.

3. I started season 4 of Desperate Housewives. I'm so addicted to it now. Can't believe I never tried to finish it sooner. Eric is a little into it too.

4. I want to go back to my old job, insanely badly. I wish it was up to me. I messaged my old boss to see if we could work something out.

5. I've started cooking more for me and Chloe. Now that I have my breaks at work around 10:30 am (for a 7am-4pm day) I'm too hungry to wait for Eric to get home. It's both a good and bad thing, since it means I'm eating better food, but since I'm not a huge veggie fan I tend to have to go out of my way to throw a veggie in for Chloe.

6. Chloe's been waking up through the night more nights than she sleeps through the night. I don't like it.

7. I get to listen to our upstairs neighbors music most nights. One night it kept me awake later than I wanted. Another night it was on so loud earlier in the night that we could barely hear our tv so Eric went up and asked them to turn it down. They don't listen to it as loudly since then, but it's still annoying.

8. We've been working a lot at trying to get our place organized. I can't wait until its done.

9. An unexpected payment came out of my bank account for one of my student loans. That was a big chunk of money I would've liked to not have to lose the month of Christmas, but we can live without it.

10. I can't think of 10 things.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. We celebrated Chloe's second birthday!!

3. I started to find my work days really dragging on lately.

4. I got addicted to Scary Mommy Confessions

5. I got tired of budgeting and planning etc. I just don't want to do it all anymore. The app I downloaded doesn't help, because it isn't organized enough for me.

6. We made an appointment to look at a townhouse. The cost is about the same as the place we're in now - rent is more, but heat is included. The downsides to this place is there's no basement or yard, but it's a lot nicer and it's closer to both of our jobs, which will help with the no-car situation.

7. Eric got a surprise day off work (that neither of us wanted him to have) so we had lunch downtown on Friday.

8. We managed to pay off a decent chunk of Eric's credit card.

9. I can't think of anything else.

10. ....

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I looked into going back to school to take a refresher course on the Legal Office Specialist course I graduated from in 2007. It's free, they told me, except for the books. But I don't know if I could ever manage it anyway, with the kids and being low income and all. I need to be able to work.

2. Kind of going with number one, I applied for a legal office assistant job in town. Don't really think I'll get it, and it's only for one year anyway - covering someone's maternity leave. Kind of like I am at my current job.

3. I apartment searched like crazy, between two different cities. Ditto with job hunting.

4. I watched the Sex and the City movie with Eric. Thursday night he grabbed it from the DVD shelf without either of us bringing it up. He was a little embarrassed.

5. I called to cancel our cable. It saves us $40 a month. It will be disconnected Tuesday.

6. I wished my fiance would shave his scary looking face.

7. I super surprised and excited by a gift my bosses got for Chloe's birthday party coming up on Sunday.

8. I thanked the heavens for Dora. She saves my sanity. A lot.

9. I took the kids in the wagon to the park. It is so much more work than it sounds.

10. I didn't sleep the greatest. I hope this weekend and next week are better.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. Well I can tell you one thing I didn't do, and that's blog. Very much.

2. I finished watching the Sex and the City series with Eric. Yeah, he watched some of it too. Time to watch the movies, though I know they're not as good. I've seen 'em before.

3. I made a Pokemon joke. I think it we weren't engaged, Eric would've asked me on the spot.

4. We made the whole Scooby Doo clan with beads.

5. We thought about maybe moving to another city, if we could come to a custody agreement with Madi's mother that she would actually follow. She actually wants her back now. She must've heard we've been happy and doing well lately.

6. So far I've been doing good with my Photo a Day Challenge on Instagram. If you don't count the fact that I had it tagged as #fmsphototaday. Yeah, an extra 't'. It took me 10+ days before I realized it.

7. I've gotten re-addicted to caffeine, kind of. Oops. Except I've also been feeling better lately. I try to never have more than half a cup or else I get shaky.

8. I've been trying out a new budgeting app. Hoping me and Eric get used to it. It would be easier than constantly checking our bank accounts.

9. I applied for a really great job, but I don't really think I'll get it. Fingers crossed!

10. I went to my third counselling appointment.

What did you do all week?

10 Things I Did This Week

1. We started an Instagram page and working more on our Facebook page for our bead creations. We do ship orders if anyone is interested :)

2. Eric's schedule changed and now he still starts work at 10am, but is stuck there until 7pm. I thought it would be nice to have the extra money and not have to rush to feed the girls before we pick him up, but in reality it sucks a lot. I'd rather have him home with us longer before the girls go to bed.

3. I signed the girls up for a music class that happens every Saturday morning. Lucky me, the lady was having a contest and I won - one month free for one of the girls.

4. All of a sudden summer ended. We went from wearing shirts and sandals to immediately wearing pants and coats. It's crazy how fast the weather changes around here.

5. I worked a front desk shift at the hotel with one of the workers who's kind of like the assistant front desk manager. She put in a good word with the manager about keeping me here part-time. I was hoping to stay anyway, but they hired someone else. We'll see what happens.

6. I started participating in a Photo a Day Challenge on my own personal Instagram.

7. I started Chloe's birthday present shopping on Sunday with Eric. I bought her the cutest sweater at Osh Kosh. I almost never buy clothing brand new, so I usually save it for special occasions.

8. Eric and I also did some marathon cleaning on Sunday. We got a nice chunk of our basement cleaned up, I managed to sell a nice chunk of my baby clothes, and we even got some mopping done. It was a nice bonding experience :p

9. On Eric's request, I started playing a Pokemon game on his DS. I don't hate it. I'm embarrassed to admit that.

10. It was a long week of being tired quite often. I'm glad it's the weekend.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I tried hot yoga with a friend.

2. I was super paranoid all week because the flu is going around work like crazy.

3. The weather got super cool all of a sudden so I started putting away the first few summer things. It doesn't make me as sad as it usually does that summer is ending.

4. The beads we ordered last week arrived, only 9 days later.

5. I bought a paid version of a budget app in hopes that we can really get on board with using it. Finances are hard to keep track of in a spreadsheet at work.

6. Planning and making supper for the girls, and then later on for me and Eric is becoming more and more of a headache each week. I'm just sick of everything we eat, and usually have very little appetite lately. I hate it.

7. I bought a $5 box of Mother's Day clearance chocolates on a whim Thursday night when I stopped to get mail at the post office. Mother's day?! Either way, we ate most of the box that night.

8. My bosses at work were cleaning out one of the storage rooms and I scored a box of blocks and a bunch of stuffed animals for the girls. I'm not usually huge on stuffed animals, but two were big enough to use as floor pillows, one was Winnie the Pooh, one was just super cute, and the other two were sleeping monkeys.

9. Chloe has become so chatty lately. It's all "Mommy's purse", "Door," "Mommy's car," "Mommy help." I absolutely love it. I especially love it when she's playing and starts singing softly to herself. Melts my freakin' heart.

10. I started watching Crazy Stupid Love Monday night while Eric was out. I had no idea Ryan Gosling was in it. I got tired and shut it off right around the time Ryan Gosling met Steve Carrell. I don't even remember what their characters names are. I fail.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. Sunday we had a family sleepover at my moms. The sleeping part sucked.

2. Monday we visited a friend and my grandfather. Good times.

3. Wednesday I left work around lunch time because Chloe had a high fever. She had the fever (no other symptoms) on and off until after midnight, but was fine in the morning.

4. I put a tentative hold on a third venue that I think I want to go with - this time it's the place I'm currently working at.

5. We made a Facebook page for our Bead Sprite Creations. There will be no pats on the back for creativity when it comes to the name. We're also talking about going into a Christmas craft fair in November. So please like our page and support us :p

6. On that note, we've been making a lot of projects lately.

7. I ate garlic fingers for lunch. Don't tell Eric.

8. I bought a second-hand costume for Madi (a lion to go with Chloe's elephant) but it looks way too big.

9. I wanted to get rid of the cat Eric made us adopt because his friend couldn't keep it.  The cat is fine during the day, but at night if we let it in the room with us, it keeps us awake by knocking things over or jumping on us over and over. If we shut the basement door and leave him to roam the top two floors, he tends to hang out near the baby monitor meowing and keeping us up.

10. Saturday morning (today?) I should be taking the girls to a music class to see if I want to sign them up to go all the time. I think they'll enjoy it.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. Eric went to his friend's house Monday night and having the house to myself was kind of awesome.

2. I cancelled my wedding venue reservation for one place, since it just didn't feel 'right', and we're going to look at my favorite place on Monday.

3. Eric and I had an indoor yard sale on Saturday last week. We sold over $150 worth of stuff, and a nice chunk of that was our bead sprites. This is what we had starting out. At least 7 of those sold.

4. We tried out the 2nd new frozen yogurt place in town. Eric didn't like it at all. I thought it was okay. Chloe was a fan. I'll be sticking to my first choice, even though they have less toppings.

5. Even though I've seen it all before, I'm addicted to Sex and the City right now. It's my feel-good show, and Eric semi follows the plot :p

6. I saw an offer on Facebook for a free photoshoot at Sears, and went for it with the girls. The woman working was fantastic, and we ended up getting a package, plus a couple of extras. I'll post pictures when they come in. Madi was the perfect little model. Chloe was just there to play, Madi was well aware that she was getting her picture taken. It was adorable and hilarious.

7. I took pictures at the park for a bachelorette party. The girl who asked me to do it is a friend of a friend of a friend. We drank together once or twice years ago.

8. My friend Sarah and I went on a girl date. We browsed some shops and wanted to go out for dessert. It was 8:30 pm and we stopped by a new place in town. We got dirty looks because we took a seat out on their sidewalk patio. Then when we asked if we could get dessert the rudely replied that they would have to asked if we were allowed to get JUST dessert, because it was their peak dinner time. We walked out and went to a big chain restaurant and got amazing service instead. Sorry for trying to support local. You'll never see me again.

9. I need to break my addiction of kids clothes shopping. At least until I sell off a lot of the stuff the kids have outgrown. It's getting ridiculous.

10. As of right now, I feel kind of happy again. I hope it stays.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. When Chloe got home  from her father's Sunday, I read a book outside while she played in her inflatable pool and balls.

2. I put more thought into starting a wedding blog for my area, to make it easier for other people to plan their weddings. It's so hard to get information online when a province is this small.

3. I started drinking a tiny bit of coffee again, because I've been falling asleep at my desk in the afternoons.

4. I watched the movie Undercover Angel. Cheesy, but an old favorite of mine.

5. I went for my counselling appointment. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think I could benefit from going regularly, but we could never afford it.

6. Me and Eric finished a puzzle together. We're boring.

7. Tried a new little cafe in town. It was okay.

8. I also tried a new pizza place in  town, and got garlic fingers. They were very good.

9. I had doubts about where I want to have my wedding. I need to hurry up and figure things out before I need to put out deposits.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. We got our engagement pictures taken and got the disc for them. Can't wait to print them off.

2. All my old friends (and one of Eric's friends) came up last Saturday for a celebratory BBQ and to have some drinks. Amazing time.

3. I finally got to meet my friend's baby, Emma.

4. Eric and I spent a (free) night alone in a hotel room. We swam, we had room service, we watched Big Brother.

5. We had a friends and family day at Fun Park. The kids had a blast.

6. Chloe was sick Tuesday night. It's heartbreaking to see her like that. She spent most of the night sleeping on the basement floor on towels so she could be close.

7. Thursday night I was sick. I still don't know if it was actual sickness, or anxiety related. But I can't do this anymore. I need help. I need something. This is killing me.

8. I took a vacation day Wednesday to spend it with my best friend who was staying in town with us for two nights. It was great getting to spend time alone together and to really talk.

9. I missed Big Brother on Thursday (due to being sick) and haven't seen Dexter yet, due to all the time away and with friends. Plus we're halfway through a movie. Eric and I have some tv to get caught up on. And I might be too tired to do it tonight.

10. It's Friday afternoon and I'm currently falling asleep at my desk as I type.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I got the call, and have an appointment for counselling

2. My boss got Eric and I a free room at one of our resorts, then I luckily won a $15 credit towards the restaurant there. On top of that, my mother is keeping Chloe and his mother is keeping Madilynn Saturday and Sunday nights. We're in for an amazing weekend, I hope.

3. We bought our BBQ earlier this week.

4. I seem to blog more about '10 Things I Did this Week' than anything else combined lately. Oops.

5. I'm still pretty obsessed with Big Brother 15

6. My mother and nephew came over Monday and spent two nights at our house. I haven't seen my nephew (5 years old) since February. Too long. He and my sister live on the other end of the country right now. We had lunch together at my work on Tuesday.

[ My first two loves. Have they changed much since last year? ]

7. Wednesday night the girls bugged to go outside, then they really wanted in their wagon and I really wanted candy so before we picked up Eric at work we took a wagon ride to the convenience store. I got them corn twists and they couldn't have been happier.

8. Eric left work early because he wasn't feeling good. Instead, we both cleaned the house.

9. Chloe tripped Monday morning and fell on her face. I didn't know the extent of her injuries until we got to daycare and I noticed she had a fat lip. Poor girl :(

10. We watched the second episode of the current Dexter season and I was so exhausted I missed most of it because I couldn't keep my eyes open.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I had a weekend away with friends

2. Chloe went for dinner with her father after daycare one day, so I took Madi out shopping alone with me.

3. I got caught up in the Big Brother 15 drama and hate

4. Dexter's last season started, and I think it's going to be a great one.

5. I took a step towards getting help for my anxiety. And told no one.

6. I played a lot of Candy Crush. Eric is addicted to it now, too.

7. I fell in love with the self-serve frozen yogurt place that just opened down the street from my work. Oh dear.

8. I think we set a wedding date. No announcements yet, but as a hint, there's now less than two years to go :)

9. Chloe learned how to say my friend Sarah's name, and it's super cute.

10. I started trying to snack on veggies, cheese and yogurt instead of chocolate. It's hard.

7 Things I Did Since Monday

1. I went to Old Navy for their buy one get one for $1 sale. Yeah, like my kids needed more clothes. Whatever.

2. Big Brother 15 started! These are my thoughts on the Big Brother 15 cast. Eric and I got pizza and a ton of candy for the night.

3. I'm pretty sure I know where I want to have my wedding. Nothing's 100% yet though, and nothing's been announced.

4. I actually made packing lists - one for me, one for Chloe, and one for Madi - for this upcoming weekend. Me and Chloe are heading out to visit friends and Madi is going to stay with my Mom for the night. I'm pretty excited.

5. My car got it's first oil change. Woot.

6. I bought the Phase 10 app for my phone. Like I need another game to be addicted to. (Hello, Candy Crush).

7. We confirmed an appointment to get engagement/family photos done mid-July.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I got my engagement ring back last Sunday, and took it right back to get re-sized for a second time. There was an airplane problem so I still don't have it back.

2. I got an Old Navy gift card from work, and used it with my Supercash to get $41 in clothes, and only spent $6 of my own money. But I also spent a bit of money getting a few things for the girl at Wal-Mart. Do you know who needs summer clothes? Definitely not my girls. Bad addiction.

3. I finally got new tires put on my car. Eric took the car in for me.

4. Chloe and I spent the day and night at Mom's Saturday night. We spent the entire day outside. Chloe went in the pool twice and loved it. It was a pretty great day. I wish we had a big yard with a pool. All that sun and heat had me wanting to take a nap at 6pm but I survived until 10 without one.

5. Sunday morning we ate breakfast outside then Chloe and I went to visit my friend Scott - who just got home from a year in the Dominican PLUS it was his birthday. It was great visiting with everyone but we left early in the afternoon because Chloe didn't want to nap earlier and was starting to get cranky.

6. I sold over $20 in books. My basement feels lighter already. I can't wait to get ALL the junk out.

7. I went to the dinner theatre preview show with Eric. The show was fantastic as they always are. The food was just okay.

8. Eric and I finally finished season 3 of Arrested Development (which I've already seen a few times) and are now watching the new season 4 on Netflix. I'm still forming an opinion on it.

9. I got re-addicted to cheesy pretzel bits. I was addicted to them a few years ago but got sick of them.

10. I started a wedding blog, but don't know if I'm going to use it or not.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I finally finished 50 Shades of Grey. NOT my favorite book, that's for sure. Read my review.

2. We took family pictures with Eric's family, here they are.

3. I'm an awesome employee and so I got enough 'work dollars' to cash in for a gift card. I chose Old Navy, and can't wait to get shopping this weekend.

4. We watched The Hangover 2. Good movie, way too similar to the first, but still funny and a good watch. I still want to see part 3.

5. Chloe had me up for about an hour around 2am one night. She played. Madi woke Eric up, so he came down to investigate once Madi was back to bed, and so we watched America's Funniest Home Videos together in the middle of the night.

6. The girls became obsessed with Dora the Explorer. They both like to try to sing the song anytime they see her anywhere - which is often because she's on Chloe's boots, one of our bowls, and on tv a lot. It's adorable really.

7. I ate a lot of chocolate. And chips.

8. I started reading 50 Shades Darker. Am I crazy? Maybe.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. Watched the last ever episode of the new 90210. So sad that it's over, and so quickly.

2. Drove all the way to the grocery store Monday night just for ice cream. Then ended up getting cookies and frozen corn as well. Eric ate most of the ice cream in less than 24 hours. I wanted to kill him.

3. We made our first couple of bead sprite sales within a couple of days of each other. I found a girl who bought our Super Mario coin bank, and a girl Eric works with asked him to make her boyfriend a Batman. Upon seeing the Batman, she requested a Joker, which he made last night and brought to her today. I doubt he took a picture.

4. I ordered clothes and dress-up hats online for the kids. Ooops.

5. I requested some of my vacation pay to make up for me taking Monday (Victoria Day) off, since it's not a paid holiday, but there's no daycare and Eric doesn't work so we're having a family day. I got a little more vacation pay than I needed, to make up for the online order.

6. Tried my hardest to get through 50 Shades of Grey (that I've been reading for 7 months). I'm at 92% as of Friday afternoon.

7. Chloe had a really bad night terror. I hate them.

8. We found ourselves with a tiny bit of extra money, and it's mostly going on Eric's credit card. Hopefully later we can manage to buy a BBQ for the summer.

9. The girls have a new Dora the Explorer obsession, and both like to sing the song.

10. I started to hate drinking can juice because it's too sugary.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I didn't exactly do this, but Eric's car broke down. Like we didn't have enough problems before.

2. I finally convinced Eric to take the necessary step towards getting legal papers signed concerning Madi

3. All week I dreaded the weekend. The last thing I feel like doing is spending a weekend stuck in the house with two cranky children and one cranky me.

4. I was up Sunday night from about 12:30-3am because Chloe had a bad cough. It made her throw up once and then she was too hyped up to go back to sleep for awhile.

5. We looked at a mini home that a co-worker's daughter has for sale. Gorgeous place, but wrong location for us but it got us thinking about someday buying a home.

6. I figured out a way to get my broken iPod to work. The on/off button won't press. So I need to plug it in to charge it. When I unplug, the screen lights up and I just have to turn the music on with the touch screen. Once the screen goes to sleep I can't change it anymore though, I just have to let it play. At least it's progress.

7. I started a photo a day challenge on Instagram

8. I started a blog every day challenge as well, but that won't last on the weekends. I don't have it in me to open up the computer when I'm home.

9. Big Brother Canada ended, and for the first time I'm pretty sad to see the end. I loved watching these people play.

10. I forgot to post this on time, as usual. So I finished it Monday and back posted it. Oops.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I made let Eric write for my blog: 10 Facts About Me.

2. I've been addicted to Candy Shoot all week, because the final level seems impossible to beat.

3. One night Eric and I were both in bed by 9:30, and asleep before 10. Go us!

4. I was sick with a minor cold. Chloe, too.

5. I bought second-hand plastic pink storage dressers to help organize the kids' closets better.

6. I got a free lunch, flowers and a teddy bear from my bosses for Administrative Assistant day.

7. I also got a call the day after saying I won a mug and some free coffee from a local radio station for Administrative Assistant's day because someone nominated me as a great worker. I haven't picked up the prize yet.

8. I tried to figure out ways to be a little less stressed out about running our home

9. I had a short video call with one of my best friends.

10. I started saving money for new tires for my car.

10 Things I Did This Week

1. I don't want to jinx it but the weather is finally better (we had snow a couple of days the week before!) and the girls were able to go outside to play a few different times. They love it.

2. I made a Grumpy Cat out of beads. My favorite.

3. I got to Skype with my friend April for the first time since she had her daughter in March. It was a little chaotic since both of my girls were home, as well as mom, boyfriend, brother and his girlfriend, but still great to be able to see the baby. Emma.

4. I made an attempt to do 'I'm Wondering Wednesday' on Wednesdays again. I seriously fail at doing scheduled things. I need to live at my own pace. But I try.

5. My iPod broke on Thursday. It's one of the little touch screen ones, and the button that turns it on and off no longer works, rendering it useless.

6. I made gluten-free zucchini bread over the weekend for Madi. She seemed to really like it, and it made a ton. *I* even like it.

7. I went on the hunt for size 4 girls rubber boots. Do you know how impossible those are to find? It got to the point that even all size 5s were sold out, so a friend who lives an hour away picked up a pair of size 5s for me at her local Wal-Mart. I guess the makers of rubber boots don't know that some girls are really small, and at 19 months are fully walking but just fitting into size 4. Little girls need boots too.
