4 Reasons You Shouldn't Follow Me on Twitter (and Three Reasons You Should)

a_lifeofourown on Twitter

I'm usually pretty quick to jump on any kind of band wagon. Except maybe joining a band. That's one wagon I don't want on. So I hopped on Twitter pretty quickly, a long time ago on an old account. I didn't get it, but I didn't care. More and more, I'm starting to really get it, but I still can't master it. It's time to face it, I suck at Twitter.

Reasons Why You Don't Want to Follow Me on Twitter

1. I can be incredibly boring.

I tweet about lack of sleep, taking the city bus, slow computers, and other stuff you couldn't care less about. I'm that person you want to defriend on Facebook because they always update with what they're eating, when they're working and how long they showered for. Except even that would be more exciting than the stuff I tweet about.

You might not believe me, but I'm actually not one of those people on Facebook. Sometimes I'm even witty. But definitely not on Twitter.

I kid you not, at the time of this post, this was my latest tweet, and I wrote it long before I thought about writing this post.
If that doesn't prove my point, what does?

2. I can't take part on Twitter 'convos'.

Because I can never find a conversation to jump into. It's not that I don't want to. I mean, ask my boyfriend - I am a huge interupter!

3. I'm not consistant.

Sometimes I just disappear from Twitter for a few days. I forget about it all the time. If I do remember, I'm basically a one tweet a day kinda girl. I don't have enough interesting things to say to bore you more than once a day.

4. Sometimes I'm that annoying 'tv tweeter'.

You know, where I tweet while I watch a show about what's happening. I'm most guilty for doing this during Big Brother season, but that's just passed so you're safe for awhile. Even then, I think I made less than 10 Big Brother tweets all season anyway.

Reasons Why You Might Want to Follow Me

1. I post pictures directly from my cell.

So they don't usually get posted on the blog. You hear that? Never-been-seen-before boring photos of my child. How can you not want in on that? I've been on this twitter account for probably almost a year and I've already posted five photos. I promise to post more often if it'll reel you in.

2. I follow some funny people.

And sometimes I retweet them.

3. I almost never Tweet my blog posts.

I used to have it set up automatically, then I stopped. Now I don't remember to do it manually, and don't care a whole lot anyway. So you know I'm not a huge pile of self-advertising, just a huge pile pointless.

So, now it's your turn. How do you feel about Twitter?

I honestly have never understood the whole Twitter thing. I'm usually one to get on the band wagon of things also, but this is not one of them.

I pressure myself to come up with really punchy tweets myself, but it just never seems to work. My best work is when I just jump into a conversation and roll with it (always easier said than done). And personally, I love to read the tweets of TV shows I'm watching as I'm watching them. Makes me feel like I'm in a room of all my gfs, gabbing during commercial breaks :)

Stopping by from SITS!

Happy SITS Day! I feel like I stink at twitter, too!! I was late on the bandwagon, but hey, we can't all be celebrities with nothing else to think about! Have a great day!

I love Twitter. I had no clue about it when I first started blogging, but now that I know more about it, it really like it. I like the conversations and the sharing of posts. I don't know if I am a super-interesting tweeter, though.

I can never think of clever tweets either! LOL. Happy SITS Day.

See that's the difference between you and me. All I ever tweet is my blog posts. If I have anything interesting to say, I say it to my husband. I'm so antisocial, it's disgusting.

All of those reasons not to follow you apply to me too. Maybe we should just follow each other.....except if we both forget to go on twitter on different days we would never see each other!

I like the IDEA of Twitter...but yeah, not really into it.

This is SO funny! I am not the most entertaining tweeter either but I think that is the best part about twitter...its SO random!! I love big brother too :) Enjoy your SITS day!

Well said my friend! I am fairly new to Twitter and still trying to get my way around it. I totally relate to what you wrote here :)

I'm not a tweeter either. I have an account, but I think I only use it to enter contests!! If I have something witty to share it goes on Facebook. Longer stories go on my blog. I just don't seem to have a use for Twitter.

You made me laugh today. Thanks, kindly. Twitter definitely has its learning curve. Happy SITS!

I'm not much of a Twitter fan either. I mean, I use it I just forget about it and I rarely have anything usefull to say. I think it's the character count limit that stops me in my tracks because usually what I have to say takes more than 140 characters. ;)

Happy SITS day!

Happy SITS day! I was like you, sporadic at best on Twitter, but in the last week I've gone Twitter nuts. Probably because my mom isn't on it so I can let the freak flag fly. ;)

I usually fall out of wagons even with sideboards! Great post. Happy SITS Day!

Ha! I'm also slack about Twitter sometimes, but I'm starting to find some real uses for it! Happy SITS day!

Yes, I'm not much into twitter except to enter contests.

But I agree with the following funny people. Have you tried Steve Martin and Albert Brooks. Then I sometimes help my sister tweet at @oldmantalkin and @Qteeneyeroll

It's hard to be witty in just 140 characters. I know I always run out of room to get my point across. Feel free to follow that mess of several tweets strung together to make a point if you want, lol @mom2natkatcj

Happy SITS day

I love twitter! It's my favorite way to get to know people and I am always shocked by the tweets that start conversations vs the one's that don't.

Congrats on your SITS day!

I don't even know that I use Twitter correctly. I don't think you know either so we're a match made in heaven! Happy SITS DAY!!!

I am still not too sure about Twitter. I recently attended a "Twitter party". It was really silly if you ask me. Maybe it's a generational thing...

I don't like twitter. I pretty much quote tweets to my facebook page. Twitter is too busy for me at the moment. I like to stop and smell the roses. Twitter screams, 'HOLD YOUR HAND OUT THE WINDOW AND SEE WHAT YOU CATCH WHILE SPEEDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY'. Happy SITS Day.

Blessings~

Twitter is for people who do not have anyone to talk to. I am lucky, I have my dogs to talk to!

Haha! This is great! You sound exactly like me on Twitter. Sometimes I remember to get on, but then I feel like I say the most boring things. Then there are times when I will go for weeks without remembering to sign on. A lot of times I also feel like I'm talking to myself on Twitter.

We're twitter twins. lol I'm exactly the same except I've never posted a picture to twitter. I'm really trying to get it though. Happy SITS day. I'm following

I am a Twitter person - sort of. It is linked to my blog's facebook so I probably post once a day. Like you, I definitely don't have fascinating enough thoughts...Happy SITS Day!

I'm usually pretty quick to AVOID jumping on any kind of bandwagon, and have been putting off opening a Twitter account for ages!

I joined twitter since it's like blogger gospel to be on twitter. But I don't get it and I find myself going weeks without even looking at it.
Over from SITS!

IMO I think Twitter is the most useful for celebs

Honestly, I am only on Twitter because people kept asking "You're on Twitter, right?" So I got one...and it has been downhill ever since. I am not consistent either. My husband makes fun of me for doing it at all because he knows the big fat secret...I am boring as hell lol...
