A review of 2013 and the beginning of 2014

Bam, just like that 2013 is done. I'm not really sad about it. A lot of good things happened, but a lot of super stressful things happened. I'm ready to move on. Before we move on, let's review a little bit of 2013, shall we?

It started with a pretty great New Year's celebration. The Chloe was admitted to the hospital with the Flu and Pneumonia at the end of January. So scary. Eric and I had our first anniversary. We found our Madi was moving in with us, full time starting March 1st. A very old friend of mine had her St. Patrick's day baby. We upgraded to 'adult' bedroom furniture. A typical weekday for me, back in May. I got engaged on June 9th (6/9/13). I suffered from so much anxiety from around February up until recently. Lately I've been so much better. My sweet girl turned two years old, and an old friend had her baby boy that day! In October my temporary job ended, and I've been blogging a lot less. I started a new job at a coffee joint. Yay. We lost custody of Madi, and soon after decided to move to a cheaper place. We moved, and then it was Christmas.

New Year's eve was a little less exciting this year. I worked 6:30-11am, then 3-11pm. It was a long day, but Eric picked me up at work and I had a couple of drinks while we played South Park Monopoly with one of his work friends and his girlfriend. I knew it would be a decent night, but it was a lot more fun than I'd expected. We only left to go home after 2am, and weren't going to sleep until after 3:30am. We were up at 7:30 to pick Chloe and Madi up at their other parents houses. Well, my lovely fiancé picked them up while I stayed in bed until they got back.

I was tired.

After a good breakfast, we let Madi and Chloe open the rest of Madi's presents. Some we bought for the two of them we saved as well. They loved it. They each got a pj and bathrobe set from Eric's mom. Madi opened hers today and immediately wanted it on, so Chloe cried for hers. The pictures that followed were a bit funny.

Now I'm at work again, until 11pm on New Year's day. I can't wait to get home and get some sleep. There's still two more days of work left until a weekend off with Eric. I can't wait.

It's all about the midnight kiss

[ via ]
I've broken a lot of "rules" lately. My own personal rules to take pictures. I rarely forget, where the babies are concerned. Birthdays, holidays, funny faces, check!

But when it comes to me and boyfriend?

His birthday? Miss. Mine? Miss. Making it official? Miss. Our first New Year's Eve? Miss.

Missing a photo opportunity for New Year's Eve makes me the saddest, because I was in a dress and he was in a tie and we looked pretty great. It  was also an amazing night.

So maybe just this once it's okay to let the picture thing slide, because I was busy living life instead of documenting it.

We went to a house party with his friends, and brought along one of mine.

Drinks were had. There was middle of the winter outdoor hot tub time. There were a ton of laughs.

And a horrible New Year's Eve countdown.

"10... 9... 8... Oh, it's midnight."

But the midnight kiss? Nothing short of amazing. As was the rest of the night, and the next morning when we got to lay in bed for a couple of hours just talking. I think I fell in love with him all over again. But don't tell him that. He's already got a big enough ego.

It's 2013. Expect me to get a little nostalgic over the next couple of days.

2012 in Review

Last New Year's Eve... I rang in the New Year by... sleeping. I was in bed around 10 that night. Chloe was on her 3rd or so night of waking up about 3-5 times a night. I was exhausted. Happy friggin' New Year.

January

- I took a trip to visit two of my best friends. I was there for almost a week and it was such a great time. While I was there, I also got to visit with my step-father (mother's ex-husband), and he got to meet Chloe.

- I got my first message online from a certain boy, and at first I didn't bother with a response. But then I did. And after giving up any expectations, we fell into easy conversation online, exchanged phone numbers and started texting.

- We visited my grandfather and got our first set of professional photos done together.

- January 19, I met boyfriend and Lil M for the first time. He was nice, but I had no idea if it would go anywhere. We hung out a time or two more before the month ended.

- Chloe turned 4 months old this month and started putting her feet in her mouth.

February

- I worked for the first time since having Chloe. My cousin babysat and all went pretty well.

- The first Sunday in February I started officially dating boyfriend.

- I went to the Paul Brandt concert.

- My sweet girl turned 5 months and started taking naps in her own bedroom :(

March

- I visited mother and grandfather for awhile.

- Sister and nephew stayed with me for a couple of nights while they looked for an apartment. I almost went crazy.

- I got my taxes done, and it was amazing. I was able to get a new tv, livingroom set and order Chloe a brand new crib, plus more.

- My girl turned 6 months and coughing was her favorite noise to make.

April

- Chloe's first Easter!

- Boyfriend had his birthday and we became the same age. We spent an entire weekend together for the first time. He also moved to an apartment much closer to mine.

- Chloe turned 7 months, and was sitting on her own very well, and could sometimes go from her hands and knees into the sitting position.

May

- I went to M's bachelorette party. It was a great time.

- We made our first trip to the ER with Chloe. Pretty scary, but nothing was wrong.

- Chloe turned 8 months.

June

- We tried to have a sleepover with boyfriend and Lil M for the first time. It didn't work.

- We celebrated my grandfather's 75th birthday

- I babysat for boyfriend's ex-girlfriend

- I went to M's bridal shower

- Chloe turned 9 months old, and started crawling at the beginning of the month.

July

- We celebrated Canada day by going to the beach. Chloe's first time and she hated it.

- I saw a celebrity at work!

- Boyfriend and I decided to move in together.

- M had her wedding! And me and boyfriend had that entire weekend to ourselves and a hotel room to spend it in.

August

- We took our second trip to NB to visit friends. Boyfriend met up with us there to meet the whole crew.

- Boyfriend moved in.

- Chloe was scared of The Annoying Orange

- We took Chloe and nephew to a water park! So much fun.
