Halloween and Fun Chloe Stuff

Today is my last day off before a stretch of 5 days of work. It's just me and Chloe home today.

So far since Eric left for work, we've watched tv, had a mid-morning snack of eggs, bacon and cheese. She's played with her babies, made a puzzle, and is now sitting on the floor behind me playing with a bag of balls. I'd share a picture if I hadn't left my phone upstairs.

She really amazes me. All the things she says lately. How loving she is. How much fun she is.

Everytime I pick her up from the sitter's, she runs to me yelling "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" like she hasn't seen me for weeks. She's so full of hugs and kisses. When Eric leaves for work, she runs to him to give a hug and kiss without being asked. As she walks away she always waves and yells "Bye, see ya!"

She calls her instruments 'impotence'.

She can identify so many things. Tigers. Trains. Lady Bugs.

She sings like all the time. She sleeps through the night basically every night without a problem.

She loved Halloween. She sounded adorable saying 'trick or treat' and 'thank you' and then her usual 'Bye, see ya!'

Everything with her is so much fun lately.

And here's some Halloween pictures.

Halloween & Moving Stuff

We're moving. We looked at a place, applied, and got it. We gave our notice. We've started selling our stuff. We have to sell SO MUCH stuff to be able to fit in this new place. I'm both sad and excited. The new apartment seems more cozy, and definitely cheaper. I just don't know where we'll fit all our stuff.

Today is Halloween. I'm super excited to take Chloe, and hopefully Madi, out trick-or-treating for the first time. We bought their costumes months ago. Madi's mother doesn't want us to take her, but I'm not sure she actually plans on taking her herself. She admitted she doesn't have a costume for her. Hopefully it will all work out. Eric will be pretty disappointed if it doesn't.

Speaking of Eric, he and I celebrated adult Halloween on Saturday night. If you follow me on Instagram, I posted a picture there. He was Santa Claus and I was Mistress Claus, or the 'Ho Ho Ho' as we called it a few time. We went to a party at his sister's house. It was a pretty good time.

I'd love to do a real update on Chloe lately, because she's been talking up a storm. She can sing the ABCs and Twinkle Little Star very well. She often says please when asking for things. She's so much fun to be around.

I hope everything is going well with whoever still reads this blog. I try to read blogs every now and then too :p

The cutest cheetah that you ever did see

Another Halloween has come and gone. Once again, it was a quiet one.

My little cheetah is a little too young, and it was a little too wet for trick or treating but I can't wait until we finally can do it. I couldn't pass up a chance at dressing her up and taking photo though.

She had two costumes - one that my mother got her, and a princess dress that I got her last year on clearance. She was a pretty good model for her cheetah outfit, but when I put the princess dress on after bathtime, she was not impressed.

Since her 13 month mark passed on October 25th, I'm going to do a quick, shorter update on her. I was going to stop at a year, but I'd rather keep track of the little things while they're still there to keep track of.

Cheetah costume

Size: 17.5lbs at her appointment on October 11th. Girlfriend is way too tiny. Still in size 3 diapers.

Eating: A lot of finger foods. Absolutely hates being spoon fed most of the time, so I've given up. She loves baby cereral bars, canned peas and carrots, bread, and sometimes spaghetti.

Sleep: She was sleeping so good for so long - 7pm, until I'd wake her up in the morning around 7am. Lately she's been waking up sometimes through the night, and getting up way to early around 6.

Daycare: We are one month in. She usually cries when I drop her off, but she's finally outgrowing that. When I dropped her off today, one of the workers said hi to her and she made one of her excited noises. I set her down to hang up her coat and she started crawling away. She's still happy when I pick her up though.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the daycare. They don't give me much information when I pick her up, which I don't like. It's hard for me to remember to ask all the questions I need to ask. But they're nice so we're not going anywhere for now.

Classic strange Chloe face

Bad things: She was sick for the first time at the beginning of October. I think it was due to coughing too much until it upset her belly. She was fine immediately afterwards. She's finally not sick at all anymore, but her teeth are messing he up, and have been for a month.

The day of her birthday party (September 23) she started with a teething fever and has been having them a lot ever since. Now, she's started to have teething effect her diaper region, both with a horrible rash and with her #2s. It's a huge tooth coming in on the top right side of her mouth.

Clothing: Her only fitting jeans are Old Navy's 12-18 months. I love them. She has so many pairs of jeans and skinny jeans. I just can't wait until she can walk so she stops wearing out the knees of the pants. Speaking of walking....

Walking: She took one step a bunch of times on October 14th. On Halloween night, she took 3 steps to pick up her bottle. I was so excited.

And that's my 13 month old girl. As usual, growing up too fast.

My happy camper

Such a joy

Anyone remember this little face from last year? Oh how she's grown up in a year.

5 Great Ideas for Your Halloween Party

Halloween was always my favorite 'Holiday'. I don't know if it was because October is my birth month, or because I love candy so much. Maybe a combo of the two. I actually went trick-or-treating for my first Halloween (less than two weeks old!) every year until I was 18 years old. I would still go to this day if it didn't feel so unacceptable. Soon Chloe can go and I can be happy again.

So yes, I love Halloween.

Someday I would absolutely love to have a huge Halloween party. One with the spooky food, scary decor and tons of dressed up people. I don't have the budget for the kind of party I'd like to throw, but I sure do have a lot of ideas floating around in my head. These are just a few I've stolen from Pinterest.

I would have loved to share more ideas, but let's face it  - I'm lazy. And this post is late.

So, is anyone actually having a Halloween party, or has it already happened?

I was the Halloween Pinata

This past weekend we celebrated Halloween.

We made our own costumes. I was an awesome pinata. I made the costume myself, mostly due to boyfriend bugging me to finish. I was ready to give up on it a long time ago. I'm glad I didn't. More details on that costume at a later date.

Boyfriend was a loser.

I mean weird superhero made out of trash bags and duct tape. It took many nights for him and I  to put together. First we made the pants, then duct taped the underwear part. He even duct taped a belt, so it would match and keep the pants underneath in place. He's wear tape-covered croc-like shoes, and a shower curtain cape.

Great idea, but the suit was kind of warm and had no breathing room so he didn't last too long in it. He went bald as part of the costume. I was, and still am not a fan.

He now reminds me of Harry from Sex and the City. So many bald guys just all look the same to me.

But the weekend was a good one. We were able to get a free hotel room, and my mother kept Chloe overnight Friday (so we wouldn't have to go to bed at 7pm when she did) and babysat Saturday night while we went out.

In the daytime Saturday, we were able to go visit my grandfather for a couple of hours. We don't get to do that often enough, and we also got some great photos of him and Chloe. To be posted at a later date because I've been too busy to upload them.

Saturday night boyfriend and I put on our costumes and went to a party at his sister's house. It was a nice way to spend the night, but I was happy to get back to our room and get to bed.

We made it back home with Chloe in the afternoon, and immediately picked up M, and then it was back to real life for us.
