Never Ever Ever....

Never ever ever....

- Will I ever be happy about the loss of Google Reader. I'm not a Blog Lovin' fan, but it's what I'll be using until I find another system for blog reading.

- Will I probably be able to say "I'm such a healthy eater!" I need to try harder with that. (I had broccoli in my lunch today! Progress!)

- Be happy that time just keeps flying by.

- Will I enjoy car rides with my daughter as long as she keeps whining every single time.

- Will I hate chocolate. Unless it's the Candy Crush chocolate. I HATE that stuff.

Fill in the Blank Friday

I'm doing something new - taking part in Fill in the Blank Friday, and I had a blast with it.

1. Right now the weather where I live is:
Pretty amazing for September. Sunny, and warm. You could still have a beach day today (and tomorrow!) if you wanted.

 2. The best piece of advice I've been given is:
Trust your mommy instincts.

3. My most favorite person in all the world is:
If I eliminate the obvious (my daughter), I would pick my grandfather. He's spoiled me since the day I was born. I was the first granddaughter, but not only that - I was the first child of the only girl. I lived with my grandparents for a year when my mother gave birth to the twins. When I went away to college, he had a bit of savings for me to get started. When I was struggling, he always helped out. In November 2010 he had a stroke, which left him as a whole new person. He has a hard time communicating with speech, but can sometimes get his message across. He doesn't like a lot of the things he used to. He's completely different. The one thing that hasn't changed is that he still loves me more than ever, and has also passed that love along to Chloe. He's basically my father.

 4. If I were to have a "mission statement" for my life, it would be:
Yolo.
Hah, totally kidding. I could try to pull something awesome and inspirational out of my hat, but I'm not wearing one. So I pulled something out of my ass instead. Meaning, I hopped on Pinterest and found something that fits into my life right now.

 5. My most favorite item in my closet is:
My little black dress, that I only got to wear twice. I absolutely love it and can't wait for an opportunity to wear it again.

 6. The best cure for a bad day is:
A happy baby. That might sound a little sappy or cliche, but it's true. No matter how upset I am, if Chloe smiles or laughs at me, I can't help but smile back, even if it's just a little. Coffee helps too.

 7. Today is:
Friday. How can that ever be a bad thing?

Hey It's Okay Tuesday

It's time for Hey It's Okay Tuesday. And that's more than okay with me. And that was lame to say, but that's also okay. Let's get this show on the road.

Hey it's okay...

- To wish with every fiber of your being that your child would go back to taking two naps a day.

- To be annoyed that like 10 new people who've commented recently are 'no reply commenters'. I just want to respond to you, yo.

- To know that you're not the type of person who can ever pull off 'yo'.

- To be sad that you've watched all current seasons of Dexter in the past 7 months, and now have to watch the next season like normal people - each week after it airs, instead of almost nightly.

- To want to send your daughter's first birthday party invitations out a month in advance, but it's 3 days past the month mark and you haven't even started making them.

- To not want to do anything, anything at all today. It's my Monday.

Hey, It's Okay

I'm linking up with Amber for Hey It's Okay Tuesday. Because it's fun, and you should too.

Hey it's okay...

- To wonder why all my top referring URLs for this blog seem to be spam-type websites.

- To have like 5 cups of water randomly placed around the apartment, and to drink from any of them when needed - aka when a coughing fit occurs.

- To want to throw your boyfriend's iPhone out the window. He probably doesn't think that's okay.

- To eat chocolate for breakfast sometimes.

- To put your daughter down for a nap at the same time everyday, even though she no longer naps and just plays in her bed. It's almost the same thing as a nap.

- To complain on Facebook at 1am even though there's no one around to acknowledge it. It makes me feel better, okay?

- To never want to be a stay-at-home mom full-time. Ever.

- To desperately want to cuddle a newborn baby, while not wanting one of your own.

- To let the dishes soak in the sink long enough that you need to empty the water and re-fill it with warm water again.

- To waste all your free time on blogger / facebook / twitter / pinterest and so on.

Hey, it's okay

I'd like to get a blog post in, but still don't have the time to completely recap my amazing weekend, so I'm keeping it short and linking up with Amber for It's Okay Tuesday. So let's get this show on the road...

It's okay...

To put off blogging because you have so much to say and not enough time to say it all. I hope.

That I'm blogging instead of doing the baby-proofing I desperately need to do, before I start babysitting another baby in 45 minutes.

To get along with your boyfriend's ex. It's fantastic actually.

To be slightly drunk by 6pm when it's a wedding day and there are no babies to be taking care of.

To take kissy pictures and post them on Facebook. I hope.

To not get dressed when you know you won't be leaving the house. At least my current pjs are new-ish sweatpants, and not ratty old pjs.

To forget to shut the lights off when you leave a room. Someone just needs to tell boyfriend that.

To want to do all kinds of productive things, but never actually get around to doing them because you get stuck on Facebook and Blogger. Oh well.

PS... I guest posted over at Yes Teacher, writing about advice for new moms yesterday, since the blogger, Sarah, just had her baby boy a few weeks ago. Pop over and say hi if you get the chance :)

Pinterest Clean-up: Link up your desserts!

It's time to clean-up another one of your Pinterest boards.

Join with me and revisit your pins, one board at a time. The goal is to get rid of any bad pins, get everything more organized if possible, and find a few awesome pins to share with everyone on your blog (post the photos and links to the pins), then come back here and link up. And be nice and visit the person who linked up ahead of you, and more if you have the time. Visit the Pinterest Link-Up page for more information.

This week we are linking up desserts and sweets.

* As I'm having internet problems, as usual, and photos aren't loading, I'm only sharing one pin today. This is my sweets board on Pinterest.

Marshmallows, chocolate chips, and a tube of crescent rolls. Can it get any easier?

Please be kind and visit the person who linked up ahead of you, or more if you have the time. It's good karma. And it would also be lovely if you would post this button as well:

Blog Star: Can't wait to meet you!

I'm Nessa. I'm not a new blogger, but this is, for the most part, a new blog. A fresh start, a more honest look into my life. I'm not here to sugarcoat things, or to only talk about the good. I'm here to tell the truth.

I have an adorable baby girl, who was born in September 2011. This is her birth story

My blog is about single motherhood and it's challenges, like when two single parents start dating. I'm currently dating the sweetest guy I've ever known, who has a daughter of his own. My blog is about me and my world. I'm a mid-twenties Canadian girl, who's in love with the beach, and pretty much obsessed with paper crafting and taking photos.

I just started a Pinterest-inspired link-up, where you post five great pins that fit under that theme of the week. The goal is to share fun things, find other great bloggers, and make sure your pins are all pinned to the proper place.

I absolutely love getting to know new bloggers, and while I haven't met any in real life, there are many bloggers out there that I genuinely care about, and look forward to each little update on their lives. Blogging is an amazing community to be a part of.

So say hi, let me know you were here so I can return the favor!

Favorite Funnies from Pinterest and Future Link-Up

I don't know about you, but I am a serial repinner, which by my definition means that I just repin so many things for later use, without ever actually checking the link. Some things I repin, and later decide I'm not interested, the link doesn't work, the link doesn't provide as much info as I thought it would. But usually I discover great things.

So join with me and revisit your pins, one board at a time. If you have a lot of pins, only go through what you want to. The goal is to get rid of any bad pins, get everything more organized if possible, and find 5 awesome pins to share with everyone on your blog, then come back here and link up. Post the photos, and links to the pins.

We will link up every Thursday with a new board category. I will list the categories below, so you'll know in advance. For this week, I'm just going to share five pins from my LoL board. Cause you can't go wrong with the funny stuff.

If you decide to do the same today, leave me your link and I promise to leave you some love.

Hope to see you next week!
