Silent Sunday: A Wedding

You remember my friend M's wedding? Well we recently had a visit and I was able to steal some pictures. They are currently the only pictures I have on my newish computer. Enjoy!

I did not know this was taken. I'm drinking and holding a naked baby. How inappropriate. I swear I'm a decent parent.

Once Upon a Wedding Weekend

The weekend of July 21st was a special one. Not only was it my first full weekend getting to spend time with boyfriend, sans babies, it was also the weekend that one of my oldest and closest friends got married. I was a bridesmaid, for the second time in my life, and it turned out to be such an amazing day.

Saturday, July 21st

I got up bright and early and boyfriend had to drop me off to get ready for the wedding. Hair and makeup was a fun time, since the hairdresser was my usual one, and she is so much fun. It was a long process to get everyone done, but it seemed to fly by.

We took pictures of the girls at her father's place after we were ready, and soon enough it was time for the bus to pick us up and take us to get her married. This was no ordinary bus. It was a gorgeous party bus, with a full-size fridge, leather seats, two tvs and two fireplaces. Very fancy.

Finally, we got to the chuch, and I was started to get nervous. I hate having all eyes on me. I was the second bridesmaid to walk out, and luckily the guys were meeting us halfway down the aisle. I was paired up with C., one of my closest male friends that I once lived with for about two years, so it make it that much easier. The ceremony was a lot shorter than I expected, and I only teared up a couple of times, then it was time to walk back out. We all exchanged hugs outside and waited for our friends and family to come out and find us.

It was nice to be reunited with boyfriend, as well as a friend that I haven't seen since October. We took one big heart-shaped group picture, before we all split up and the wedding party and our spouses boarded the party bus to go for more pictures. We went to the bride's grandparents' house, then the beach, then back the church grounds for pictures before we had to head over for the meal. I don't have any bridal pictures of my own, or any of the professional ones yet, but I did steal some from someone else, and took a few pictures of my own on the sidelines.

As the alcoholics we are, we were all feeling pretty good by the time we got back to the church grounds to take more photos, then into the dinner. The dinner and dance were full of laughs and so many good times. Mom took Chloe to the dinner.

We had the bridal dance, which was a combo of the Macarena, YMCA, and Cha Cha Slide. I was not a fan of this, but by the point we did it, we were all a little drunk, and everyone did horrible. It made it better.

I danced with everyone the rest of the night, pretty much had the time of my life, then it was time for goodbyes and to head back. A friend dropped me and boyfriend off at the hotel, and we were a little sad to check out in the morning, but our vacation wasn't over yet.

Sunday, July 22

We had an amazing breakfast in one of the small towns, then spend some of the afternoon visiting boyfriend's sister and her boyfriend at the cottage they were staying at. We went for a short walk on the beach, and finally it was time to start heading back to pick up our girls. It was an amazing weekend, and almost two weeks later, I'm still sad that it's over.

The days leading up to the wedding

I went back to my hometown this past weekend to be a bridesmaid in one of my oldest friend's wedding. While I don't want to bore you with all the lame details, I do want to document it for myself so here goes.

Wednesday, July 18
I hitched a ride back to my hometown area to spend time with a friend who's home on vacation from the other side of the country. Me and baby girl stayed with them for two nights. The first night we met up with some old friends that I hadn't seen in forever for dinner. It was like we were together yesterday. The same old jokes, making fun, and non-stop laughing. Always a good time with this bunch. Chloe was happy as can be the whole night, and even stayed up past 10 when we got back, because she was enjoying all the attention.

Thursday, July 19
I had an early hair appointment that my friend was nice enough to drive me to, and watch the baby for me. In the afternoon we took an amazing nap together while Chloe napped, then the wedding rehearsal was that evening. The church rehearsal went smoothly enough, and the party afterwards was a good time. We left a little early when Chloe decided she was ready for bed. Me and the friend were in bed almost as soon as Chloe was. Oh, how we love sleep.

Friday, July 20
I woke up to find a text from boyfriend, mentioning a surprise. The surprise was, he was already at my mom's to surprise me, but I ended up sleeping at my friend's place an hour away. Still, I was happy that he made it up so early. He met me, then took me to drop Chloe back off at my Mom's, then we ate and checked in to our hotel room. We were so excited to find out we had a fridge.

For some reason, I felt so restless like we needed to do something because it was vacation. We tried to visit a friend of mine, who ended up having to leave before we got there. We tried to stop by the BBQ my engaged friend was having, but she was gone when we got there. Eventually we just went back to the room and killed an hour playing around in the pool and hot tub at the hotel.

We hung out in our  fancy hotel bathrobes and relaxed until bedtime. Maybe not the most exciting night, but almost my favorite part of the whole week. Of course, I would forget to take any pictures that day. I always used to take pictures of any hotel room I stayed in. I fail.

I'll recap Saturday and Sunday tomorrow, since Saturday was wedding day and there will be lots of pictures : )

I'll be gone

I've been MIA a little bit lately, with the loss of my car, and with spending a lot of time with a certain boy. At the same time, I will continue to be missing for a little while, as I'm leaving today for the rest of the week to be a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding this weekend. All our friends are home from all over the world for the wedding, and it is going to be so great to see them all.

I'll be back Monday..ish.

Once upon a bridal shower

My close friend M's bridal shower was this Sunday. It was quick, low-key event, but there was great food and some entertaining games. And as always, it was great to see my friend since she lives about 5 hours away from me.

She scored lots of goodies, then the day was over. Next stop, wedding rehearsal.

Here are a few photos from the day.
