I've been sitting at work all morning, really wanting to go out and get my favorite hot drink - half hot chocolate and half coffee. So yummy.
What you might not know is that for about a month or two, I would stop for one of these every.single.morning. on my way to work. That's just a little bit under $2 a day. Then I fell in love with frosted cinnamon rolls. Cinnamon rolls with FROSTING. Then I was paying around $3.50 a day.
A day.
That's almost $20 a week just on a morning snack.
What you also might not know is that I wasn't feeling well for a few days back in January. Because I wasn't feeling good, I wasn't eating well. By well, I mean barely at all for two days. I didn't stop for my morning snack those days.
When I finally got my appetite back, I didn't immediately get back that craving. Now, I stop every now and then, but not nearly as much as before. I'm thankful for the money I'm saving, and I'm sure my health is thankful for all the water I'm sipping on to replace my coffee. I've been drinking a lot of water.
But those hot chocolate coffees? Those are my little indulgences.
Some people have pop, or an alcoholic drink, or a meal out, or some spa time, but this is my only real addiction.
But my question to you is what's yours? What's is that one (or two or three) thing that you know you probably have way too often, but you can't or don't want to give up?
And how do you know when it's too much? When you should give it up, or if you're allowed to have this treat as much as you want? How do you control your little indulgences?
I'm glad I was able to cut back, but since I started writing this post, I went for a walk and gave in to my craving.

Oh how I love you, chocolatey coffee |

Mine is definitely coffee. I probably spend $10-20 a week on coffee, between making it at home and sporadic Starbucks lattes. I started drinking less coffee last week but then got migraines so I don't think I could really give it up all the way.
I love Tim Hortons! I haven't had that in forever; probably since I was in Buffalo 4 years ago!
I love those things, too! I would say I tend to crave things like that (chocolate things) or processed foods, and then I eat them...and regret it because they can make me feel so horrible. I wish that was enough to get me to stop eating them permanently, but for now, just most of the time it stops me. I guess it's true what they say, even when something makes you feel bad later, the addiction can be strong enough for you to risk it! Food is just as addictive as drugs, and I firmly believe that. This year, I'm working on breaking some of those food addictions! Wish me luck! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment earlier, too! :)
Have a great weekend!
Coffee or wine
Oh, I know that feeling. Up until recently mine was Coke. But then I got sick and I never feel like drinking Coke when I have a cold. A few days without it and I had kicked the habit. But I will still happily indulge now and then when I really want one.
I think mine is junk food. But I really try to stay away from it. I would eat it everyday though if it didn't make me gain weight!!
Mine is coffee. I don't know what I'd do without coffee!
Oh boy. Double Stuf Oreos. Peanut Butter M&M's. Hot Chocolate. Cherry Pepsi, but even that isn't as much as it used to be. I just drink it now to survive at work wince I've been staying up late cause of Hubby's schedule. The others, I can tell when my teeth hurt. Or, here recently, I get heartburn when I eat too much. Or I feel nauseous. Those are my big signs. I hate getting them, because A it means I've overindulged, and B it means I have to cut back. Lol
