Big Brother Canada: My Thoughts

I haven't blogged about Big Brother Canada all season. I mean, I never blog about any Big Brother, but I watch the show religiously when it's on. So does my boyfriend. We lay in bed some nights and talk Big Brother instead of doing what normal couples might do. Lame. Kidding.

I think I got more into this season since the people are Canadian (woot).

Evel Dick basically sums up all my thoughts on everything perfectly, but I'm still going to go on with this anyway.

The finale was crazy. Here's a recap along with some houseguest thoughts

Of course there were the people who annoyed me at the beginning. Gary - He was a little much to handle, but he grew on me in a big way. Love him. Talla - I hated her opening and finale night shoes.

I didn't love anyone right away, but started to love watching Peter and Alec, up until they turned on Topaz.

Topaz. Wow.. where to start on that one?

I still can't believe the twist where they let house guests listen in to her personal thoughts, especially since they never did anything like that to anyone else. Twists are one thing, but twists that trick you into revealing your game? Shouldn't be a part of the game. That should happen by people listening behind closed doors, not by letting the housemates watch you secretly. Creepy and mean.

Her finale vote was just embarrassing. Getting up and trying to fight it, I can understand. Not sitting back down after Arisa told her to a million times? Just got more and more awkward to watch. She was embarrassing herself. You cost Gary the win, move on.

At least I knew Gary would be awesome about it and not hate Topaz for it.

Emmett was a sore loser on finale night. You could've taken Talla to the final three, pretty much guaranteeing that a) you and Jillian would make final two or b) you or Jillian could turn on each other, one of you take Talla to the final three and basically have a sure thing win. Talla never ever would've won the final HoH competition. You had no problem with Gary coming back in the game until he put you out.

And Gary. Love Gary for always doing the best thing for his game, not the easy thing. He was my favorite HoH because he wanted to make big moves, and he wasn't scared to say it. My favorite moment is when he's talking with Jillian to put up and she suggests two 'floaters' at the time... Andrew and someone?  I don't have speakers to watch the youtube video to make sure it's the right clip, but I love it when she tells her that's stupid.

I don't like that he got voted back in so late. Getting voted back in is one thing, but that late in the game is just unfair to everyone else who worked to stay in the game. You didn't get to stay, so I don't see how you should get a couple of weeks of safety then go back in with almost no time left to even evict him if they wanted to. But good on Gary for doing what he had to do to make final two whenever he was back in.

I wanted Gary to win, but you can't deny that Jillian earned a win. Peter's question to her was stupid, and insanely bitter. He used to be a favorite but I was not a fan of him on finale night. You can't say Jillian didn't earn her spot, and that Emmett took her to the end. Jillian made the big moves, got the blood on her hands, and won enough competitions that people couldn't get her out even if they wanted to. Emmett definitely played a better social game by not getting his hands dirty, but he still ended up in jury.

Talla.. I'm glad she made one more awkward voting face during finale. I'm glad she made it as far as she did, because even just her facial expressions were funny to watch.

Kat. Who cares about Kat, and why the hell is she still so bitter? I love houseguests that get evicted before jury, but still think they played a great game. If you were evicted on week one, obviously you played the wrong game. So stop being bitter and get over it.

I'm going to shut up now, because I'm sure I've said enough, but could probably go on for hours if prompted. Hoping to catch this 'Morning Show' that they speak of later tonight online somewhere.

Cant wait until the next season of Big Brother.

I just hope it's not another season with old houseguests. My favorite part of Big Brother Canada was that it was all new people. Not a newbies/veterans season. I'm so sick of those.

Things That Make Me Uncomfortable

May 3 - Things That Make Me Uncomfortable

Feelings
Especially feelings that lead to crying. I never know what to say or do. Cue uncomfortable silence.

Bugs
Mostly they make me  feel terrified and/or panicked. But if one is somewhere in the house because it narrowly escaped being killed, I just feel very uncomfortable until it's gone.

Praise
People praising me for doing something trivial. Or even something big. Just awkward.

Revealing Clothes
I'd rather wear my shirts as shirts, and bottoms to go with them.

Sex Scenes in Movies
When I'm watching it with a parent/grandparent. It's not so bad now that I'm 25, but still awkward enough.

What makes you uncomfortable?

How to not become a crazy stressed out Mom

May 2 - Educate

Today I am here to teach. The topic is supposed to be something I know a lot about or am good at. Hmm...

Rather than putting some real effort into teaching something I know a lot about (I can't think of anything!) I am going to teach you how to Not Become a Super Crazy Stressed Out Mom.

I:

- Worry about budgeting
- Worry about grocery shopping
- Worry that I'm not eating healthy enough
- Worry that my kids aren't eating enough variety of foods
- Worry that we need tires, car repair, dental work done and can't afford it
- Worry that we'll never be caught up with our debt
- Worry that my car is going to break down
- Worry that I'm not doing enough activities with the kids
- Worry that the house isn't clean enough
- Worry that I'm not working hard enough at work
- Worry that I won't get enough sleep tonight
- Worry that I'll be late for work
- Worry that the kids won't nap
- Worry that I'll get a super headache if I don't have caffeine fast enough
- Worry that I'll get sick
- Worry...
- Worry...
- Worry...

So how to not become a super crazy stressed out Mom?

Stop giving a shit about most of that stuff.

You're welcome!

(If only it was that easy, right?)

Recipe: Baby Cereal Cookies

Lately I've been putting a lot of effort into finding new recipes, both for me and boyfriend (who is a super picky eater), and for Chloe, who I'm trying to introduce to as many new things as possible. I wanted something new that Chloe could eat as a snack (besides raisins and blueberries!), that she might really like. Something like cookies. So I found a recipe online for cookies made with baby cereal.

Ingredients:

 2 cups - Rolled oats
¼ cup - All-purpose flour
1 cup - Any baby cereal
 2 tsp - Baking powder
1 tsp - Baking soda
½ cup - Butter
½ cup - Packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup - Raisins (I added these myself)

Oven at 375.

Directions:

- Mix the butter and brown sugar, then mix in the eggs.

- In another bowl, mix  together the rest of dry ingredients. Mix both bowls together. Add raisins last.

- Make cookies and put them on a greased cookie sheet.

I made mine about tablespoon-sized scoops, and flattened them a little. These babies grow to be pretty big. I made about two batches, and probably around 30 cookies. I baked them for about 7 minutes for each batch.

The results?

She thought they were okay. She's not the biggest fan of oatmeal things, I've learned. She'll still barely eat cookies like this unless they're pure sugar. She ate enough to satisfy me, but I'm still sad that she doesn't love oatmeal. Oatmeal cookies are my favorite!

Boyfriend also tried them (before I told him they were made out of baby cereal) and he said they weren't bad.

My Life Story in Less Than 250 Words

So I'm taking part in a challenge. Blogging everyday in May. This might prove difficult, since I never blog from home (weekends), but I'm going to try anyway. It's hosted by Jenni at Story of my Life, who I've blogged about before

May 1 - My Life Story in 250 Words

I was born in a super small town in a super small area in Canada in October 1987. Four years later my Mom, a single mother, blessed me with twin siblings - girl and boy. We moved around a lot, never going too far, but far enough that I changed schools many times. We eventually settled not far from my hometown when I was 12, and stayed there until I went away to college. I wasted my time at college, and never ended up using my education, but eventually got a job that I was dreaming about anyway - working in a hotel. Four years later I still love this line of work and this company. In January 2011 I found out I was pregnant. I was still with my on and off again ex of two years at that time. When my daughter was two months old, I moved out of his place to live on my own with the baby, and met my current boyfriend not even 2 months later. Fast forward about a year later and we're living together with my daughter and his. Just proof that you'll never know where your life is going to take you next. (202 words!)

What is your life story in 250 words or less?
