4 Yummy No Bake Cookie Recipes { Link up yours! }

I've always loved baking, but I'll admit that I'm lazy. I've been known to try a complicated recipe every now and then, but usually I like to stick to the simple stuff. One thing I love making and eating, is cookies, but I absolutely hate the time and effort it takes to scoop them all out onto the cookie sheet, and I've never been good at getting them all the same size.

But then there's no-bake cookies.

Melt some stuff in a pot then stir it all together? Easy enough. Then just throw blobs of it onto wax paper. Sounds perfect to me. Here are some no-bake recipes I've found (some I've tried) on Pinterest. Link up your cookie pins below!

1. Chocolate Hazelnut No-Bake Cookies

Hazelnut is one of my favorite flavors. My mouth waters just thinking of these.

2. No-Bake Mocha Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is a tiny bit more complicated (for me anyway - I've never used oat flour before) but there's coffee in it. COFFEE. Yes, please.

3.  No-Bake Snickers Cookies

I just made these a few nights ago - and yum is definitely the word!

4. Coconut No Bake Cookies

Coconut is my favorite. I want to make these next.

It's my SITS day!

It's my SITS day. Yay.

Some of you may not know what SITS even means. It's not a disease, I promise. The short explanation is The SITS Girls is a community of women bloggers, all out to support one another. (SITS stands for the Secrets is in the Sauce).

For those who are new here, let me introduce myself.

I'm Venassa. I'm in my mid-twenties, a Canadian girl. I'm sort of the single (working) mother to Chloe, a tiny 16 month old girl. A year ago (yesterday) I officially started dating the sweetest guy, who now lives with us, and has a two year old daughter of his own, who stays with us a couple of days a week. So I'm not so single anymore.

Boyfriend and I plus girls - December 2012

Around here, I talk about my baby girl the most, boyfriend the second most. They're more interesting than I am.

I just started a weekly link-up called I'm Wondering Wednesday, where I ask questions and we all answer. It's been thrown off schedule due to today being my SITS day and last week's hospital craziness, but it'll be starting up again on Wednesday the 13th. Every other Thursday I do a Pinterest link-up. Come back tomorrow and link up you favorite cookie pins.

My blog doesn't have much of a schedule. It can be random, most times boring, but it's real. I talk about the good things like a New Year kiss, the fun things like celebrity sightings, and the awkward things like relationship insecurities.

So I hope you'll say hi, tell me a little bit about yourself. I'd love to get to know you. Thanks for visiting :)

Happy First Anniversary to Me

One this day last year, my life was changed in a big way. More than I ever would've guessed back then.

I woke up next to a boy that I'd been dating for a couple of weeks. It was one of those rare, amazing mornings when you have nothing to do for most of the day and just lay in bed talking. Those are my favorite mornings. By the end of the day, we were officially dating.

So in celebration of that, some facts on us.

10 Facts About Us

1.

If he was born 6 days later, we would be exactly 6 months apart

2.
We're incredibly boring most of the time
When we have free time together, without babies, we have a hard time thinking of anything to do

3.
We struggle with figuring out new meal ideas

4.
Boyfriend hates cheese - and it's one of the biggest annoyances in our relationship

5.
When we first met, immature people were spreading lies about us to each other
Luckily, we were smart enough to ignore the drama because that's all it was - lies

6.
When the year changed from 2010 to 2011, we were both in the same bar
celebrating with our friends, but still wouldn't meet each other for another year

5 Things I Did This Week

Five things this week, because I lived at a hospital for a lot of this week and no one does much at a hospital.

1. Chloe spent Sunday afternoon until Thursday morning in the hospital. My daily schedule for most of those days was get up, go to hospital, go to work, go to hospital, go home eat supper and immediately go to bed. Luckily Mom got to the hospital Monday night and stayed until Chloe left Thursday so I could still work.

2. We cancelled our weekend trip away, on account of Chloe being sick.

3. My amazing friend A., who we were supposed to stay with on our trip, sent Chloe a gift at the hospital.

4. Boyfriend and I spent all day Monday at the hospital. Chloe slept a lot, so we spent a lot of time walking around. We had three hospital meals that day.

5. Paid a fortune for hospital parking. At least I saved on food and diapers for Chloe.

We're All Home Again

I hate having a sick child. I miss seeing my baby happy.

She came home from the hospital yesterday. My mom spent the day with her, and then went home. I wasn't feeling the greatest, which turned into me going to bed at 9:30, waking up feeling sick when boyfriend came to bed an hour later. I was on the couch until about 4am, drifting in and out of sleep, feeling sick but never actually getting sick. Chloe woke up twice through the night, but went back to sleep easily.

I could tell she wasn't feeling her best this morning before I left for work. She home with boyfriend for the day. It's nice that she's with someone who will send me regular updates.

After all this, all I can say is thank god it's the weekend. We need a lazy weekend more than anything.

Here are photos from our last couple of hospital days.
